another great outing. Prior to the last podcast, I was really not familiar with the Paisley Underground. Thanks again for the continued examination of this "hidden" sect of rock. Listening to a lot of the songs, I could feel the connections between the Byrds and R.E.M. My favorite track here is "Too Many Steps To The Door". Looking forward to the next session!

Glad to hear you’re digging it, KB. The Byrds and R.E.M. are definitely brought to mind by some of this music... Some of it’s very “jangle pop” at times. Your favorite track of the set is one of mine, too. I saw True West perform back in 1983 and that song was one of the memorable moments of the evening. I remember they did some cool cover versions of early Pink Floyd and Yardbirds that night too...
I was lucky to be one of the handful who attended True West’s Lucifer Sam/Mas Reficul single release party at Flipside in Davis. It was a rainy day. Nothing like having a personal concert!! Gavin & Russ were totally cool.
That’s cool you that you were at that release party. Their version of Lucifer Sam was excellent! They performed that song on the night that I saw them. Did you see any of the other Davis-based bands from around that time period?
