Great episode! wasn't familiar with the Paisley Underground...this is a great primer. Fave track by far was the gloomy "No Easy Way Down". I got a Jim Morrison/Doors / 80s goth vibe with that one. "Flying On the Ground" sounded as if Nico and Neil Young formed a Sonny & Cher style duet. Fantastic. Looking forward to the next show.

Hooray! Glad you liked it. It’s always fun to hear which tracks strike a chord with you. “No Easy Way Down” definitely gets a Doors vibe going, especially in the instrumental mid-section of the song. I’ve got tracks picked out already for the next installment. Expect that at the beginning of June...

Greetings Captain!

A periodic greenhouse gas sample has arrived from your sector of the Solar System and it suggests that all is not well amongst the dominant Earth species.

This triggered a broad-spectrum electromagnetic radiation scan, which revealed the happy news that I-HFR Airlines is still flying, albeit with the middle rows empty.

Even better news - Paisley Underground ! That was not predicted - yet perfect for these surreal times.

On the subject of social-distancing, Karl Precoda's work on The Days of Wine and Roses LP remains a masterclass in guitar-torturing, even if he's not interested in teaching us that any more.

Trust The Captain to go straight in with the big guns.

Ahoy there, Twelve—

A super-fun surprise to hear from you! So glad that you are still within range to receive my transmissions. Good to know that life still exists out there beyond the walls of my hermetically-sealed pandemic panic room.

I hear what you’re sayin’ ‘bout Karl Precoda. He could really kick up a nice squall. The band wasn’t the same without him. I wish he would’ve stayed with them a little longer. I think he’s a university professor now...

oooh YES - once again the CAPTAIN is making the podcast equivilent of Must See TV.
Can't wait to follow the rabbithole down into this undervalued sub-genre.
Thanks for providing Tom, you continue to impress.
Hope you and yours are staying healthy and sane!

Hey there, Vermonter —

I’m happy that you’re onboard for the Paisley Underground trip. I’ve got playlists picked out for the next two episodes and they’re gonna be good!

All is well with me and mine out here in sunny California. Looking forward to the day that we can all emerge from our shelters and rub shoulders with our neighbors again. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Coincidentally, Chuck Prophet, formerly of Green on Red, has a great new solo album out now. It showed up on my Spotify dashboard. I guess the algorithms must know what I like. Cheers! Byrnes
