Greetings, Captain. As a person who likes to see the glass half full, I will focus on what I personally liked best about this latest outing. I really enjoyed the one-two punch of the Gang of Four and Wire at the top of the hour. In the middle, I loved "Wardance" by Killing Joke. As someone who is really color blind, I really enjoyed the Cure-esque "Colour Blind" by the Pop Group. The one track that I was most pleasantly surprised about was the track "Squares and Triangles" by the Thompson Twins: more guitar and bass than I would have expected. I love hearing new music, which this outing has provided to my ears, but I am personally still not 100% sold on the post punk movement. Not enough guitars for my personal taste. Nonetheless, keep up the great work. Byrnes
Hey buddy. Always fun to hear your thoughts on the music. Glad there were some things in there you enjoyed. Particularly happy to hear you dug the Pop Group on first listen. Their music seems to be "an acquired taste" for most people (if they enjoy it at all). That Thompson Twins track was a surprise, right? Not what one would expect (compared to their more-familiar mid-80s output). I'll be doing one more "post punk" podcast (probably next month) and then we'll move on to other musical pastures...
