another fantastic episode of XU rock for my ears. I always like hearing new music even if it is old. Naturally, I am familiar with the Minutemen, and of course, one my personal faves, UO, but this pod broadened my horizons with 80's output of the Flaming Lips, and bands like Bitch Magnet who I had never heard of before. Well curated. Cheers and looking forward to more episodes.

It always makes me happy to hear that I served up some stuff that is new to your ears (and that you enjoyed). I always strive to present the best of both familiar and unfamiliar artists. It’s tricky because I never know what experience listeners are bringing. I imagine some have “heard it all before” and others are of the “it’s all new to me” variety ;-)
The ‘80s version of the Flaming Lips had a somewhat different vibe than their later more-familiar incarnation. I think Wayne used his voice differently back then and it gave it a different attitude.
That Bitch Magnet track rocks, right?
Thanks again for sharing your comments. I look forward to them!
