Another great outing! and a great concept! Your guest has more mature musical tastes at his young age than I had when I was 13! Impressive.
I did catch School of Seven Bells open up for the Afghan Whigs back in 2012. They weren't bad, but sadly the band didn't last. The lead guitarist died from lymphoma in 2013 essentially ending the band. The song "Elias" is from the posthumous LP SVIIB.
I too love that Nick Cave song! A change of pace from his earlier output, but great nonethless.
Cheers,
Byrnes
Glad you enjoyed it, Byrnes!
Ben definitely has great taste for someone so young. I was still listening to Top 40 radio at that age, but I was soon to discover my love of Pink Floyd with the release of Wish You Were Here…
That’s cool you had the opportunity to see School of Seven Bells perform. It’s a shame they were cut short by the passing of their guitarist…
Greetings Tom D. That certainly is a fresh approach. Really enjoyed the Tag-Team format and you both rocked the show. Everything was new to me (except for the King Crimson, of course), so I appreciate how yet again you expand my musical knowledge.
I was really crazy for the Ebeling Hughes, SVIIB, and Nick Cave. Looking forward to the next show.
Be seeing you, D
Big D! Glad you enjoyed it, buddy. I've got several new episodes in the pipeline right now, so stay tuned. See you soon!
